If you’re looking to spice up your magick life, try using color as a tool of manifesting and casting! Color magick (IMO) is a vital part of conjure/ witchcraft. Using colors whether it be in the form of candle magick or fashion/beauty magick, can really kick your witch shit up a couple of levels. As I’ve been studying conjure over the years, I’ve come to have a beautiful relationship with color magick. I mainly practice it when performing candle magick or when I’m feeling the need to boost up my energetic space and body. For example, when making rose water for the apothecary I like to use RED roses when creating a batch rooted in self-love and romance. Color is POWERFUL and when used correctly, it works with the universe to bring in (or get rid of) whatever it is that you need!

Red |
Element: Fire
Astrological Correspondents: Aries, Scorpio, Mars, and influences Saturn
Chakra: Root (Also rules; Bones, Teeth, Nails, Colon, Prostate and of course, BLOOD!)
How to work with Red
Need a little motivation or want to spice up your sex life? Working with a red candle can help you there!
Been feeling low in energy? Wearing all red (although be careful of that depending on where you live!) can help boost your mood from sad gal to hot gal.
Using flower essence like Roses to bring a sense of love, healing, and beauty! Keeping roses on your bedside table, altar, or even turning them into rose water can really boost your inner God/dess energy.
Orange |
Element: Fire
Astrological Correspondents: Sun, Leo & Sagittarius
Chakra: Sacral (Also rules; Pelvis, Kidneys, Uterus, Bladder, Lymph, Sperm, Adrenalin, & Digestion)
How to work with Orange
If you’re feeling a little blue, put a little orange essential oil in the diffuser, add a glass of orange juice or a few slices in your meal.
Wanting that new job, light an orange candle for road opening work! Add some cinnamon for sweetness and your favorite hot pepper to speed up the process.
Wearing the color orange can also help raise your vibrations if you’re experiencing mental fogginess! Orange is great to wear on a day you’re having a creative block in your path.
Yellow |
Element: Air
Astrological Correspondents: Mercury, Taurus and Libra
Chakra: Solar Plexus ( Also rules: Lower Back, Spine, Gallbladder, Pancreas, Liver, Spleen, & Digestion)
How to work with Yellow
When doing any form of healing work, lighting yellow candles on your altar space will open up space for your angels to come in and do work.
If your workspace is looking a little dull and lacking that usual “go-getter” shine, add some yellow flowers and decor to your area! Help yourself not procrastinate, by making your working space more inviting.
Having a hard time thinking positive thoughts, wearing yellow head-wraps, jewelry or nail polish to activate your inner shine.
Green |
Element: Earth
Astrological Correspondence: Venus, Mercury, Aquarius & Cancer
Chakra: Heart (Also rules: Upper Back, Spine, Shoulders, Breasts, & Lungs)
How To Work With Green
If you’re doing any form of money magick (candle, gris-gris, etc) using the color Green is KEY to making shit pop. Green not only is the color most associated with money, but it also represents prosperity in spirituality.
Starting a new job or going in for an interview? Wear a splash (or all) green to boost your “I’m that bitch” energy.
Do a little Earth magick and get some plants! Not only are plants fantastic Lil beans, but they can spruce up the air quality in your home, produce nutrients for you AND just be an overall great addition to your life. * If you don’t have a green thumb, plastic succulents are always a good time!*
Blue |
Element: Water (Obviously)
Astrological Correspondents: Jupiter, Moon, Virgo, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces
Chakra: Throat (Also rules: Neck, Thyroid, Ears & Mind)
How To Work With Blue
When wanting to deepen your meditation, light a blue candle(s) to really open up your connection.
Crystals like Lapis Lazuli are great to use when your throat chakra is being blocked when you need extra help saying something important, or just a boost of confidence when speaking in public.
Wearing blue clothing can help activate peace or release tension when feeling anxious or overwhelmed.
Indigo |
Element: N/A
Astrological Correspondence: Mercury, Saturn, Capricorn, Jupiter, Gemini, and Sagittarius
Chakra: Brow (Also rules: Face, Nervous System, Bones, Eyes, and Emotions)
How To Work With Indigo
Feeling heart-broken? Wearing purple or lighting a purple candle can help carry you through that feeling.
Want to work your “That’s So Raven” powers? Use purple crystals like amethyst to boost your own psychic skills!
Using purple lighting is a great way to deepen a meditation as well.
Black |
Element: Earth

Chakra: Teeth & Bones
How To Work With Black
Want to seek balance? Using black and white candles during a time where balance is needed.
Needing to rid your spirit of something or mourn an old version of yourself? Wearing black will assist you in your healing.
Doing a binding ritual? Use a black candle to really amp up that removal energy.
White |

Astrological Correspondence: Moon and Pisces
Chakra: Crown ( Also rules: Brain, Penal Gland & Sperm)
How To Work With White
Having a wild time getting out of a dark place, light a white candle and ask The Divine to lift you out of that space. You can also call on Archangel Michael for protection and guidance.
Hot tip! Wear all white after taking a spiritual bath for peace and welcoming in your new energy with love and light.
Organizing your area with white accents, decore, etc can help stabilize the energy of your home, workspace, etc! Let the light in!
